Down to Earth Tree Service is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible. We designed the site with mobile users, slow connections, and assistive technologies in mind.

Standard we aim for

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That means, among other things:

• Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
• Keyboard navigation for all interactive elements.
• Descriptive labels and alt text for images.
• Logical heading structure (one H1 per page, sensible H2/H3 hierarchy).
• Form fields with associated labels.
• Visible focus states on all focusable elements.
• Responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops.
• Site content remains readable with a 200% browser zoom.

Where we may fall short

We test the site on common browsers and devices, but no website is perfectly accessible to every user. Areas where we know there is room to improve, or that we test less often:

• Third-party content (Google Maps embed on the contact page).
• Older screen readers paired with older browsers.
• Image-heavy blog posts when alt text on imported images is missing.
