02Approach

Trusted tree service in coastal Georgia — built to read trees before we drop them.

Steve started logging straight out of high school in 1981. After 16+ years on full-size timber, he spun off into dedicated tree service — and has spent the decades since taking trees down safely around houses, sheds, fences, and power lines across Effingham County, the Savannah metro, and Bryan County.

That background is the reason we read every tree the same way: where it wants to go, what it'll do on the way down, and how to leave your yard cleaner than we found it.

03What our neighbors say

Reviews from Effingham, Savannah & Bryan County homeowners.

I am glad to know that dependable businesses still exist. They are few and far in between. They were here when they said, did what he said he would do. Thank you Mr. Steve!
Tiffanie B.Oct 2023
I highly recommend them — they were fast, efficient, friendly, and extremely professional. We had a HUGE tree and in a day and a half it was gone and you would never know it was there. They cleaned and blew all the debris.
Felicia L. · Aug 2021
Steve came right away and gave me a price. They started when they said they would and did all the work we agreed on. I would use Down To Earth again and recommend them.
Theresa C. · Aug 2022
Top notch work and the crew are a bunch of really great guys. I will not hesitate to have them do work for me again.
Steven H. · Jul 2016
I'll be telling everyone — he'll be my only tree guy from now on. Oh and he's freaking funny too.

04Common questions

Tree service FAQ — answers before you call.

01

How much does tree removal cost in Effingham County, Savannah, or Bryan County?

Tree removal pricing depends on height, lean, proximity to structures, and access — but most residential trees across Effingham County, the Savannah metro, and Bryan County land between a few hundred dollars for a small tree and the low thousands for a large hardwood near a house. We give every customer a free, no-pressure estimate.

02

Do you take down dangerous or leaning trees?

Yes — leaning trees, dead trees, and storm-damaged trees are exactly the work we specialize in. With 45 years of saw experience and proper rigging, we drop trees safely even when they're close to houses, sheds, fences, or power lines. We handle hurricane and storm-cleanup calls as a priority.

03

Do you handle the cleanup after a tree comes down?

Always. Cleanup of all limbs, brush, and debris is included in every quote unless you specifically ask us to leave the wood. We haul it off-site so your yard is ready to walk on the same day.

04

What's the difference between stump grinding and stump removal?

Stump grinding takes the stump 6–10 inches below grade so you can plant grass, lay sod, or pour concrete over it — and that's what most homeowners want. Full stump excavation (digging out the whole root ball) is more invasive and almost never necessary unless you're putting in a structural footing.
